On our one full day at the lodge, we went on two half-day excursions. In the morning, we went sea kayaking around Slate Island to view Aialik Glacier and got to see a bald eagle keeping an eye on a chick in her nest. In the afternoon, we took advantage of the changing tide to be able to canoe into Upper Pedersen Lagoon and get a closer view of the Pedersen Glacier.
