Day 11 was another sunny day, but we were traveling through the Muav “Icebox”, so we were in and out of the sun all day. It was a bit chilly, but the sunlight and shadows on the river made for fun photography. The highlight of the day was our stop at Matkatamiba Canyon, where you had the choice of a swim or a climb to the upper patio area. The swim through the narrow limestone slot canyon was amazing! We stopped for the day at Ledges campsite and opted to sleep out again on one of the upper ledges.
- Loading the boats for another day
- The view from the back of the boat, right behind the baggage pile – perfect for using the solar panel to charge a battery!
- Tying the rafts in at Matkatamiba Canyon
- The swimming option
- The climbing option
- Looking down the slot canyon
- The view from the patio
- Climbing back down to the rafts
- Our small kitchen and chair circle at Ledges campsite – the boats are anchored into the rocks with climbing gear!
- Tents on the ledges
- Seemed like another great night to sleep out under the stars…
