We started our day by hiking up 202 Mile Creek to see some pictographs. We then headed downstream and got quite wet in 205 Mile Rapid before floating through the Granite Park area and enjoying the views in a wider portion of the canyon. We stopped for a frolic at Pumpkin Spring, where we played in the sculpted Tapeats sandstone and many of us jumped into the river. We had a wonderfully lazy afternoon, floating down the river in the baking sun and experiencing on our last full day what a normal Grand Canyon trip is like. A few of us swam a rapid, and I even redeemed myself on a bow ride through 217 Mile Rapid by managing to stay on the boat. We stopped for our final night at Upper 220 Mile camp, where we could see the damage caused by a flash flood earlier in the summer. For our final evening, we had to finish all of the remaining wine (darn) and we feasted on perfectly grilled filet mignon, potatoes and onions, followed by chocolate cake.
