This is the first of many posts to chronicle our 16-day rafting adventure down the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon with O.A.R.S. in the fall of 2018. Day 1 started with a three-hour drive from Flagstaff to Lee’s Ferry. Once there, the crew loaded our gear into the rafts, we donned our PFDs, and we were off! Due to concerns about upcoming bad weather from Hurricane Rosa, the plan was to cover 18 miles to House Rock. But a nasty upstream wind after lunch changed our plans and we stopped at Soap Creek instead.
